US troops told to avoid London

Of course, we shouldn't want them in harm's way.

Thousands of US military personnel based in the UK have been banned by commanders from travelling to London in the wake of Thursday's bomb attacks.

"We are concerned about the safety of our folks and are trying to do what we can to protect them," RAF Mildenhall spokesman Matt Tulis said.

We have been assured that the American people stand with us, but not, it appears, when we are waiting at bus stops in Piccadilly.

We foreigners stand with you, but not literally as we don't want to die with you. Though I have lived in central London nearly two decades, I crossed London off as holiday place as soon as I saw the laws that prohibited free speech regarding Islamic terrorism; such legislation clearly shows that your politicians don't understand the problem.

I agree that our political masters have been extremely complacent - they have overlooked clear incitement to murder because they did not want to offend the muslim community. They have been at pains to view international terrorism as something that was not specifically or even predominantly associated with Islam.
